Management & Training Corporation Disciplinary/Investigation Clerk in Holly Springs, Mississippi

Clerk- Investigations/Discipline Reports to the Investigations Lieutenant and Disciplinary Hearing Officer. Performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties in comliance with American Correctional Association (ACA) standards, Management & Training Corporation (MTC), and Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) directives. Essential Functions:Review Rule Violation Reports (RVRs) to ensure hearings are conducted within seven working days.Assist in ensuring RVRs are served to the violating offender within 24 hours of the violation.Review the RVR to ensure the offender's request for investigation has been documented andallwitnessstatements are attached. Ensure appropriate signatures have been obtained for any refusals and waiver of rights by the offender. Ensure RVR investigations begin within 24 hours and a notification of waiver has been signed. Ensure the Unit Administrator or designee has reviewed for completeness and initialed. Ensure all supporting documents are attached to the RVR(chain of custody, pictures, unusual occurrencereport, etc.) Document receipt of all RVRs in logbookEnter pending RVR alerts in Offendertrak.Forward all prepared RVR's to the Disciplinary Hearing OfficerEnter the final disposition of the RVR in Offendertrak and remove the alert status.Type correspondence, reports and letters.Proofread material to verify accuracy.Maintain records and files.Maintain appropriate office supplies for the department.Operate office equipment, including computers.Log and distribute incoming mail, prepare outgoing mail, answer telephone and convey messages.Operate telephone communications and mail handling as assigned.Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors andintervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.Maintain accountability of inmates and property; adhere to safety practices. High school diploma or equivalent required. One (1) year clerical or related experience including word processing and computer data entry preferred. Valid drivers' license in the state of Mississippi with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
