Wind River Job Corps Center, located in Riverton Wyoming, is operated by Management & Training Corporation (MTC) for the U.S. Department of Labor. Located on the second bench above the Wind River Valley, the Center is one of the largest employers in Fremont County. Our staff teach approximately 300 youth, ages 16-24, the academic, technical training, employability and social skills they need to become prepared for successful careers.

Description

  1. Assume oversight of all security and safety activities on assigned shift.2. Assist the safety and security manager with staff training, evaluating staff performance and recommending and implementing departmental changes as approved by the human resources manager prior to implementation.3. Supervise and conduct frequent security inspections to identify deficiencies and recommend changes.4. Protect and secure center vehicles and property by checking doors, window, lights, electrical appliances, equipment, locks and emergency equipment; maintain activity log of findings and corrective action taken.5. Patrol and monitor center grounds and the surrounding vicinities as required to ensure safety and proper behavior of students; resolve potential or occurring problems.6. Assist in transporting the ill or injured for care as required.7. Assist in emergency evacuation, control and accountability of students and staff; respond to fire alarms; take necessary steps to report fires; reset fire alarm equipment.8. Assist staff and law enforcement personnel in controlling disturbances; conduct preliminary investigation and submit accident reports.9. Act as liaison with law enforcement and fire agencies when in charge.10. Coordinate and oversee transportation of students on assigned shifts.11. Perform administrative functions such as logs, incident reports and accident documentation.12. Oversee student, staff and visitor check-out and check-in proceedings; schedule security desk coverage.13. Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.14. Participate in student employability programs and activities.15. Support, promote, and enforce Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy.16. Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors t hrough interventions.17. Maintain accountability of staff, studens and property; adhere to safety practices.High school diploma or equivalent and three years experience working with youth preferred. Previous security related experience is desired. Excellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency required. Valid driver's license in the state of employmnet with an acceptable driving record.
